As a highlight of this year’s festival, we have partnered with Gaza International Festival for Women’s Cinema (GIFWC) to showcase a truly extraordinary and inspiring event .
“Legendary Women in a time of Genocide” is the theme of the inaugural women’s film festival taking place in Gaza in October. Submissions have been elicited from both Gazan and international women film-makers, new and established.
Dr Ezzaldeen Shalh, GIFWC Festival organiser explains:
“This exceptional inaugural edition of the festival is a gesture of solidarity and support amid the ongoing genocide targeting women in Gaza, where many have lost their caregivers or children.
There are truly legendary women in Gaza. Women capable of confronting extreme levels of atrocity, death, hunger, and blockade — with remarkable resilience.
Each woman has a story that reflects the depth of the Palestinian narrative.”
Our event is a tribute to Gazans’ creative resistance and will showcase a selection of films from their festival.
A panel of speakers will take questions and discuss the films.
