How do Palestinians express their identity and resistance through their culture?
This informal evening will be an opportunity to learn about Palestinian culture through film, music and art, and to explore the expression of identity and resistance.
Not Just Black and White illuminates the significance of the Keffiyah.
Street Art from the West Bank is an opportunity to see and hear about the street art created in the West Bank and in UK cities, including Leeds, during a recent visit by Taqi Spateen.
Generation Palestine highlights the importance of culture to individuals living in the diaspora.
Traditional Palestinian instruments will be played and for those who wish to participate, there will also be an opportunity to learn a Palestinian dance!
Ticket price includes tea/coffee and cake.
Juman Quenis, a film-maker and lecturer who will be visiting from the West Bank, is our chair for this event. With people featured in the films, as well as the Directors, she will discuss how their identity and resistance is personally expressed in their work and lives.
